Local Business Scoops 4 Awards in Close Succession

Photo 1 -four-awards-in-a-week-Air-IT(LR)Nottingham-based IT Services provider, Air-IT, won no less than four prestigious awards during the last week of September, from three separate awarding bodies. It’s great news for the regional business community when local firms are recognised nationally, as well as across the whole of the East Midlands for their achievements and successes.

Last year, Air-IT successfully acquired Managed Business Communications Ltd (MBC), creating a company capable of delivering telephone systems, voice and data communications and IT services all from under one roof, covering support, management and supply.

McQuilkin commented, “It’s been a great year. Our ambition has always been to help clients achieve the economic and operational benefits of a sound technology strategy.”

Of course, a lot of hard work, as well as investment in new technologies for their own operations, has been needed. These moves have been brave ones, but confirm that Air-IT is committed to putting its money where its mouth is – the company has replaced its entire suite of IT systems in the last year. Its total investment in technologies and staffing over that period has exceeded £100k, but the firm is confident that its strategy is right and that these changes are necessary to stay ahead. Receiving these awards is recognition that they have got it right so far.

Air-IT won the following awards:

  • Entrepreneur of the Year – 2014 regional British Chambers of Commerce Business Awards, with McQuilkin going forward to represent the entire region in the finals for the National Chamber Awards.
  • GFI MAX Rookie of the Year – recognition for outstanding new business growth amongst European partners. GFI MAX is a leading solution for managing and monitoring IT systems, and this award recognises Air-IT’s significant success as a Managed Service Provider.
  • Small Business of the Year – Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce Awards winners, in recognition of their track record of success, progression and a robust plan for sustainable growth.
  • Best Use of Technology to Improve Business Performance of the Year – Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce Awards. Air-IT are the inaugural winners of this new award, in recognition of their successful use of technology to improve and maximise their efficiency, productivity and overall performance.

Founded in 2005, Air-IT has enjoyed continuous growth, and today, with a cadre of over 30 members of staff and a client base of over 300 organisations across all market sectors, has an annual turnover in excess of £2 million through providing innovative ICT services and solutions. By infecting clients with its own enthusiasm for turning technology into genuine business enhancing capabilities, the firm enjoys a 98% client retention rate combined with very low staff turnover.

Todd McQuilkin speaks in praise of his team; “They’re a fantastic bunch of people. Our continued success owes much to their knowledge and their dedication to Air-IT and its clients.”
