Sponsored by Lincoln-based building firm Truelove Property & Construction, Holly (14), from Worlaby, near Brigg and her 11-year-old horse Golly Girl will compete in The Children and Junior European Championships in Slovakia.
The competition will take place between the 8th and 13th August in Samorin, Slovakia at the x-bionic equestor sphere.
The 14-year-old is no stranger to riding with the Great Britain team as this will be the second time in recent weeks that she has taken part in an overseas competition.
Only last month, Holly helped Great Britain achieve a third-place finish in the Children’s Grand Prix at the Dutch Youngster Festival in the Netherlands.
Holly said: “I can’t believe I have been selected for the European Championships! I can’t wait to go and jump, we have an amazing team and I’m just so excited!”
Barrie Truelove, Holly’s father and owner of Golly Girl and a Director of Truelove Property, said: “It’s great news! The waiting is finally over and after months of planning it’s so nice to see that all the hard work has paid off.
“Holly and Golly Girl have had a brilliant year so far and Golly has been amazing. She’s been answering every instruction which has got Holly onto the team.
“Holly is very confident and has an unrivalled bond with the horse. At this level, both of them need trust. This is why it’s important to remember that it’s not always about the jumping, but also about getting the horses there safe and fit, ready for competition.
“We recently attended the kitting out day and it was great fun trying out the team clothing and having all the photographs taken. It also gave the team a chance to get together again to reflect on this huge achievement. We can’t thank NAF, British Showjumping and LeMieux enough for all their support!”
