Team RPD Racing enters new phase with Vision Express backing

Led by Vision Express team member Darren Cole, RPD Racing is set for 2017’s cycling season, with backing from the national optical retailer and a growing reputation in the sport.

Team RPD Racing was formed at the end of 2015 by Gareth Norman, creator of Rose Performance Development, a cycling, time trail and triathlon coaching business and Chris Bates, a local cycle racer coached by Gareth. Darren, who works as an IT systems engineer for Vision Express joined the team shortly after its inception sharing the vision and goals of Gareth and Chris.
After finishing 2016 with a top 10 ranking in the East Midlands league, RPD hopes to build on last season’s success with an expanded cohort of six riders, including three under the age of 24 – Christopher Till, 24, who is currently studying for a PhD in Plant Biochemistry at University of Nottingham, 20-year-old Alex Pritchard, who is in his third year at the University studying Biotechnology, and recent graduate of the same course, Tom Cox, aged 21.

Among the national-level races confirmed for this season is the Melton Rutland CiCLE Classic, domestic and European professionals, and the team will also be submitting entries for other notable races including the National Time Trials and Road Race Championships.
