One of the region’s leading PR, marketing and digital agencies has been shortlisted for another prestigious industry award for the seventh time in nine years.

Shooting Star, based in Lincoln with a UK-wide client base, has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide award in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The agency, established in 2006, is up for the best public sector campaign award for its continued work in promoting the Lincolnshire Wolds and the Lincolnshire Coast for East Lindsey District Council.

Once again Shooting Star is the only Lincolnshire agency to make the CIPR PRide awards Yorkshire & Lincolnshire shortlist.

Jez Ashberry, Director at Shooting Star, commented: “We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for these prestigious industry awards once again. As ever, we’re up against some stiff competition, but we’re extremely confident in the work of our team for this category.

“As we continue to grow as an agency, this nomination is a real testament to the long hours and hard work our talented team put in for our clients and for our business too. We’re delighted to have recently added another member of staff to the team and hope to make a further addition later this year.

“We’ve worked hard to strengthen the marketing and digital side of our business and that has been something both our business and our clients have benefited from.”

The agency has seen significant growth in both clients and staff since January. Earlier this year, Shooting Star won the ELDC tourism tender for the second year in a row and has helped the district council to promote the area on a national scale.

Throughout the contract, Shooting Star secured coverage in a range of publications, newspapers and online predominantly through arranging press trips for national journalists and media bloggers.

East Lindsey District Council has benefited from coverage in national titles including The Guardian, Country Walking, Coast, Fabulous and Cycling Plus.

Sharon Foster, Marketing Manager at Shooting Star, commented: “It’s been another big year for Shooting Star. In the first half of the year we launched a new website, spoke at several industry events and increased the size of our team with some new hires who have a range of communications experience.

“I’m excited to see where the next six months take us, and if we win this award in November then it would be the perfect end to the year!”

Last year, the agency won a gold at the South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards and a silver in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region. Its team of ten also secured an award in 2015 for its work with British sidecar champions Ricky Stevens and Ryan Charlwood.

Shooting Star works with public and private sector clients across the UK. The agency’s ever-growing list of clients includes the Midlands Engine, Secret World Wildlife Rescue in Somerset, leading glass packaging manufacturer Beatson Clark in Rotherham and Our Health Heroes, a national healthcare award initiative based in Bristol.
