The sky was the limit for six members of the Shakespeare Martineau team last week, as they jumped out of a plane at 13,000 feet to raise over £1,000 for Leicester-based charities Hope Against Cancer and LOROS Hospice.
Phil Pepper, Andrew Wilkinson, Mark Platt, Oscar Ciaurro, Natalia Wilusz and Nikky Thorneycroft took a leap of faith and reached speeds of up to 120 mph as they made the jump from Sibson Airfield on 12 July 2019.
Hope Against Cancer support cutting-edge research in the Leicestershire and Rutland area that improves treatment and provides better outcomes for patients. Since they were set up in 2003, they have funded over 60 research projects tackling many different forms of cancer.
LOROS Hospice care for over 2,500 people across Leicestershire and Rutland each year. They provide free and compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.
Andrew Wilkinson, Partner at Shakespeare Martineau, said: “We chose Hope Against Cancer and LOROS after hearing about the fantastic work they carry out across the region.”
“We’re delighted to have raised over £1,000 so far and want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us. The donations really will make a huge difference to these fantastic charities.”
