The weather might have taken a downturn, but that didn’t stop Rothera Sharp from celebrating the end of summer in style.
Business owners and contacts were invited to the firm’s end of summer cocktail social on Thursday 6th September at Revolución de Cuba in Nottingham’s Market Place.
The evening began with a welcome mojito and mocktail reception and plenty of opportunities for networking. In addition guests were treated to a number of games courtesy of the firm’s wills and probate solicitor Adam Cotterill, including a general quiz and code breaker round won by team Mambo No. 5, comprising of Jo Tatum of Nottingham Workplace Chaplaincy, Nottingham Trent University’s Andrea Carver and Simon Johnston, Kylie Nixon and Steph Bowler from The National Ice Centre and Motorpoint Arena, Sarah Rice from Nottinghamshire Hospice, and Claire Quinlan from Rothera Sharp. In the spirit of the evening’s setting and to mark Nottingham Cocktail Week, the winning prize was a free round of cocktails.
Guests were also invited to take part in a music quiz where teams had to work out the songs being played and the connection between them. With a tie between three teams it was a close call, with team 4 finally crowned the winners, consisting of Alan Rodgers and Byron Burghart from Brewin Dolphin, Ann and Chris Griffiths from Specialist Protection and Jason Waghorne and Billy Shaw from Rothera Sharp.
After giving their brains a thorough mental workout, attendees were treated to Caribbean chicken and zesty rice along with a selection of tapas sides including Iberico ham croquettas, calamari, honey roasted vegetables and crusty breads.
Anton Balkitis, the firm’s Marketing Partner said about the event: “This Cuban-themed evening continued the firms’ tradition of running unique and successful commercial networking and charity events. It was fantastic fun and the feedback has been exceptional. We’re keen to bring professionals and clients together”.
He added: “Earlier this year Rothera Sharp collaborated with local sports charity Brighter Futures Through Sport to hold an event marking the launch of the organisation and last November’s successful festive-themed commercial event certainly paved the way for us to hold something similar again this year. ”
