The race on Sunday 28th September, marks the first time Jill, her elder brother Mark, younger brother John, and 19-year old niece Mary will take on a distance race together, although each of them is an accomplished distance runner in their own right.
Jill has completed the half marathon distance in the Robin Hood Marathon each year since 2000, and this year, she is hoping to better her 2013 time of 2 hours 20 minutes.
“I’m thrilled to be joined by my brothers and niece for this year’s challenge,” says Jill, “but I am already being teased that I will be the last of the team to finish as they are all much quicker than me!
“I love the Robin Hood Marathon and being a part of such a wonderful showcase for Nottingham. It’s always so well organised and the hundreds of spectators that line the route are always very supportive.”
The Evenden family has strong links with Nottingham. Jill, a graduate of NottinghamTrentUniversity, began her accountancy career in Nottingham before starting EBS 21 years ago; her brother Mark is a NottinghamUniversity graduate, and John also completed his degree at NottinghamTrentUniversity.
Jill is a Trustee and the Treasurer of Home-Start Nottingham, and upon completing the Robin Hood Marathon, the Evenden team will make a donation to the charity that provides in-home support to families in and around Nottingham.
This weekend, she completed the Women’s Running 10K event in Nottingham.
