Nottingham’s fastest-growing mid-sized company, Baxter Freight, has further bolstered its team through the appointment of seven new employees.
O’Neill Bryan, Adam Dance, Ben Jeffrey, Demi Lewis and Greg Simmons have joined the customer service-driven logistics provider as account managers, while Elena Chandler and Richard Mountford have taken on the roles of trainee finance administrator and domestic operator respectively.
Baxter Freight, which has its head office in Lenton, was set up in 2014 and now employs more than 60 people. It operates daily services covering all the main commercial centres in continental Europe and the Nordic region, as well as thriving domestic and overseas divisions.
Chairman Ian Baxter said: “We’re an ambitious company with big plans for the future. The success of our business depends on the strength and skills of our employees. That’s why we have made it our mission to recruit, train and develop a great and growing team of people who love working at Baxter Freight and want to invest their future with us.
“I am delighted to welcome O’Neill, Adam, Ben, Demi, Greg, Elena and Richard to Baxter Freight and I have no doubt they will flourish in their new roles. We’re always on the lookout for people who are passionate about their career progression and want to join a company that offers robust training and mentoring as well as excellent financial rewards,”
Account manager Demi, who joined Baxter Freight after relocating to Nottingham from Northamptonshire, wanted a complete career change from her previous role in insurance. She said: “Being new to the freight industry means I’m learning something new every day and I’m relishing in that challenge. I was attracted to Baxter Freight because of the company’s training and mentoring offering, which will allow me to progress within a fast-moving business and the freight sector.”
Baxter Freight prides itself on employing people with modest experience and giving them a platform to launch a successful career by rising through the ranks. After recently finishing her A Levels, Elena was keen to kickstart her career in finance. She said: “I never wanted to go down the university route as I was always keen to start my career early and work my way up the ladder. I’m looking forward to sharing my journey with Baxter Freight.”
*Baxter Freight was named the fastest growing mid-sized company in Nottinghamshire by international accountancy firm BDO earlier this year in its annual growth barometer. The company looks set to be handling around 50,000 shipments this year after signing a major new partnership in the Nordic region. Turnover is also expected to increase from £13 million to £15 million.
