Project completion was marked with a handover ceremony by Newark based contractors Jessops Construction, Employers Agents Cynergi and representative fit out teams from each of the well-recognised brands due to take up residence over the coming weeks.
The project which started in December 2017, involved the construction of 6 retail units and associated external works including; earthworks remodelling, drainage and Section 278 works to the public highways.
Jessops Construction, main contractors for the scheme, undertook the design and build of the mixed use facility on behalf of long-standing clients, Quora Limited. The two firms, together with Employers Agent, Cynergi have successfully delivered a number of similar commercial and mixed use facilities throughout the country.
Richard Sherry Commercial Manager of Jessops Construction said “We are pleased to have delivered another successful project for our well-valued client, Quora. Our site team have worked tirelessly to ensure that despite the inclement weather at the start of the project and the additional works added, we have had minimal deviation from the original programme. This has ensured that each of the stores are able to undertake timely internal fit-outs to guarantee store openings, where desired, prior to the all-important festive trading period.”
He added “The project has been highly anticipated by the local community and will offer more choice to those living locally.”
The retail park will include an Aldi Supermarket and retail units for Heron Foods, Home Bargains, Greggs and a Starbucks Drive-thru. An additional unit will be let to palliative and neurological support charity, Sue Ryder who will take up residence in the final unit. The site will also include a Marston’s public house.
