An Indian and Bangladeshi Restaurant from Newark hopes to curry favour with judges at the Annual Curry Life Awards after being shortlisted again for an accolade.

Ashiana Restaurant and Hotel in North Road, is celebrating the news that it is in the running for one of the Best Curry Restaurants in the UK in the competition, which is seen as the most celebrated annual event for British curry houses.

Restaurant owner, Mr Saiqul Miah said he was thrilled to be heading into the finals of the competition once more.

He said: “This will be the second year we have been shortlisted as the finalist for Curry Life National Awards, which is fantastic news, especially when you consider that the Ashiana was competing against more than 1,000 Indian restaurants and takeaways nationwide.”

Sai continued: “We were stunned when the judges from the Curry Life magazine turned up at the restaurant and told us that we’d been shortlisted again for the 2018 awards in the Best Restaurant category.

“The Curry Life Awards team were meticulous in their assessment of the restaurant, speaking to the staff, visiting the kitchen, watching the food being freshly prepared and, of course, sampling the menu as well.

“Learning that we had been nominated for the award by our customers again was especially wonderful. We’re all delighted that our customers have enjoyed themselves so much that they wanted to nominate us for the Curry Life awards once more this year.”

“It makes me very happy; our restaurant is now very established and well loved by our diners. We have worked tirelessly to create an exceptional dining experience and knowing that people are really enjoying our food makes all the hard work worthwhile,” he added.

“We are looking forward to be joining the League of Curry Life’s Elite Club of Best Curry Restaurants in the Country for 2018.”

This year, more than 1,000 nationwide restaurants and takeaways were put forward for the Curry Life Awards through postal and online nominations.

The annual Curry Life Award in association with Just Eat celebrates the unsung heroes behind Britain’s favourite dishes.

Mr Miah and his team are looking forward to this year’s ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel Central London, where the winners will be announced in a glittering ceremony to be held on Sunday, 7 October 2018, alongside the first ever World Curry Expo in London.

The Curry Life Magazine is acknowledged as the voice of the Curry Industry in Great Britain. It reaches to thousands of curry houses and takeaways bi-monthly across Britain, with an estimated readership of over 100,000.
