The Leicester office of Mazars, the international accountancy and advisory firm, has named Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland as its charity partner for 2018.
Mazars will work with Age UK across all its Leicester office charity events this year, including dress-down days, golf days, Christmas events and various one-off events throughout 2018. The partnership will also involve raising awareness of Age UK within the Mazars client base and the local business market.
Chris Darlington, Leicester Office Managing Partner, said: “Charities play an important role in building our civil society, and we are dedicated to helping charities navigate what is a very complex landscape.
“However, Age UK is more than a charity in terms of how it helps senior members of the local Leicester Shire and Rutland community, and is an essential service without which they simply couldn’t manage.
“With this in mind, we’re honoured to be able to partner with Age UK throughout 2018, and we look forward to working with our staff and clients to raise valuable funds for the charity.”
Tony Donovan, Executive Director of Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland said: “We are thrilled to have been selected as Mazars’ Charity of the Year 2018 and we are extremely proud to be working with them to help raise essential funds and awareness of our charity and the work we are doing, particularly with those who are most vulnerable and have complex support needs.
“Our charity supports over 50,000 local older people and the majority of our services are provided free of charge. We want to keep it that way and with the support of local businesses, such as Mazars, we are able to continue to do so.”
The Leicester office is currently in the process of putting together a detailed programme of charitable events to be held throughout 2018.
