Last week at the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham, ‘Forward Ladies’, UK’s leading women’s business support organisation, celebrated the achievements of successful female talent in the local finals of the National Women in Business Awards for 2016, sponsored by HSBC.
Amongst the Regional Finalists, was Leicester based Marketing and Communications company, Mocha Marketing. Gemma Orton, Managing Director, attended the awards ceremony and felt honoured to receive the ‘Start-Up Business of the Year’ award, recognising them for their outstanding efforts over the past 20 months.
“We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. After reading through the talent and success stories amongst the finalists, I really didn’t think we stood a chance of winning so I was very shocked when we were announced as winners. It’s an incredible feeling after only 20 months of business, but the award has to be dedicated to the team for all of their hard work and passion for Mocha.”
Established in January 2015, the firm have come a long way in achieving their goals, and expanding their client base.
Griselda Togobo, MD and owner of Forward Ladies, which runs the Women in Business Awards said: “There is a huge amount of female talent across the UK and it’s an honour to be able to showcase and celebrate their achievements. This year has been the biggest celebration yet and we are incredibly impressed by the calibre and quality of the applications. It has been truly outstanding.”
Mocha will join the eight category winners, who will take part in a judging day in Manchester in November before a distinguished panel of business specialists. They will join the finalists from events in London and the South of England, Yorkshire and the North East, and the North West and Isle of Man. The national winner will be announced at a grand finale to be held in Leeds in December.
