Their core value is “to change the world of education using technology” and they believe further employing the use of technology in the classroom will enhance a student’s learning experience.
The vision for Lumici Slate is the complete classroom companion, but will initially launch with the online lesson planner feature in early September. Teachers and employers will be able to create and store lessons online; the lessons will then be downloadable by students or other teachers.
Atif Mahmood, CEO & Founder said, “Educational technology should be simple, beautiful and stable. We’ve worked hard to make Lumici Slate as easy to use as possible. Teachers will be able to drag and drop text, images or videos from any website, create lesson libraries and store lessons online. We believe we will make teacher lesson planning exciting again.”
One of the key elements of the Lumici Slate is its online community. Lesson plans can be shared online with other teachers, easily categorised and rated; helping teachers to find and use the best lesson plans. The simple feedback system will encourage improvement in lesson planning; leading to a better learning experience.
Connor Burton, lead programmer at Lumici said, “We are using cutting edge technology to build Lumici Slate, we want the platform to be fit for the modern classroom and the future.”
Lumici Slate already has many early adopters with local schools and colleges eager to use the new teaching solution when it is released later this year.
