Leicestershire-based welding supplier Foster Industrial has broadened its popular range of own label welding accessories, putting the business firmly on the manufacturing map in the process.
With British factories starting the year on a firm footing, Foster Industrial has listened to customer feedback – and put itself in a strong position to build on last year’s success as a result. Meeting demands for more hi-tech options, the two new auto darkening welding helmets mark Foster’s first venture into the powered air respirator market and are expected to boost sales both in the region and beyond.
The new products, ‘Grind-Plus’ and ‘Prem-Air’, both incorporate True-View, the latest in welding filter lens technology, and continue the high level of quality and durability that has become associated with the Foster Industrial own brand range.
Launched in 2016, to coincide with the firm’s 130th anniversary, the range now includes a collection of 150 of the most popular welding accessories, from MIG welding wire to Anti Spatter & leather protective wear. A range of TIG welding wires is just round the corner.
Anthony Ashford, Operations Director at Foster Industrial, says the new helmets are a particularly exciting addition to the collection: “True-View technology is a significant development in the industry. Incorporating it as a feature on the new Grind-Plus and Prem-Air masks puts the helmets on a level with some blue chip brands and makes our range a real option for those looking to upgrade their personal protection.”
New to the market last year, True-View allows the operator to view through the welding filter in its light state with more colour, contrast & clarity. It is perfect for working in confined spaces or where the welder wants to inspect work on an ongoing basis, without lifting his head top.
Richard Foster, Joint Managing Director, continues, “The helmets have been added to the range following customer trials & feedback, which was consistently telling us there were experienced welders out there looking for good quality, durable welding masks incorporating a high specification. ‘’
“As part of our commitment to product development and customer support we’ve taken that on board and after lengthy consultations with our partners, the result is these two new additions to our own brand range. We are particularly excited about the Prem-Air powered respirator. It’s smart design is likely to turn a few heads .”
The new additions to the range are both designed to offer all round great performance but feature certain elements suited to specific situations. As well as True-View technology they feature a grinding facility mode while the Prem-Air PAPR also incorporates three step airflow speed control.
This offers the welder comfort and protection with continuous, automatically variable control of the blown air. Three levels of control offer the user more choice on the
airflow speed applicable to different welding sites and SmartSensor technology keeps the airflow speed stable to the user’s setting regardless of the variation in load (for example the battery is running low or the filter is clogged.) With a TH2 protection factor, the Prem-Air PAPR is suitable for most welding applications.
