Improve Performance to Build a Better Business

Lincolnshire firms looking to take their business to the next level are being invited to the fifth annual Building a Better Business event on Thursday 11th May.

Organised by the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Streets Chartered Accountants and the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub, the focus of this year’s event is around improving performance.

Aimed at businesses with five or more employees, the day will feature ‘real-life’ case studies of high-growth firms as well as an inspirational talk by keynote speaker Howard Kaye, Sales and Marketing Manager for Marukyu Europe Ltd.

Howard will explain how the firm, which is considered the number one angling bait manufacturer in the world, increased its turnover by 300 per cent in just two months after relocating from Wales to Boston.

Delegates will also be able to put their questions to a panel of industry experts including Heidi De Wolf, Specialist Skills Advisor at Bishop Grosseteste University, Chief Executive at the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce Simon Beardsley and Director of PR and marketing agency Shooting Star Kate Strawson.

The case studies will include home and business security experts Lincoln Security and video production company Wallbreaker.

Aiden Farrar, Managing Director of Lincoln Security, said: “I am delighted to be able to share our experience for this year’s Building a Better Business event.

“We originally started out as a simple key cutting shop on Lincoln’s High Street and, over the last 40 years, have become the leading security installer throughout the country for multiple critical national infrastructure sites.

“From fitting security doors for the CrossRail project in London to heading out into the North Sea to retrofit high-security locking systems for the National Grid Network, we have followed some very easy steps throughout our history that has led to our success.

“The Building a Better Business event is a great opportunity for us to share these steps, as well as impart our experience and knowledge to fellow businesses within the county, in the hope of developing future success for the wider region.”

Simon Beardsley added: “With the General Election looming and the UK set to start lengthy Brexit negotiations with the rest of the EU, it’s an unsettled time for businesses.

“We hope this event will give Lincolnshire businesses the confidence and knowledge they need to ride out these uncertain times and continue to grow by boosting productivity, increasing profit and gaining a competitive advantage.”

Building a Better Business will be held at The Showroom, Lincoln on 11th May 2017 from 10am till 2pm.
