Helping Hands opens its doors for Carers’ Week 2018

As part of Carers’ Week 2018, the nationwide family-owned and run Helping Hands Home Care will be opening the doors of its 73 branches to welcome people across the country who are interested in a career in care.

On Thursday 14th June 2018, experienced carers or those thinking of a change in career will be welcomed to their local branches to chat with Helping Hands’ teams about the role of a carer and what it’s like to work at Helping Hands.

During the extended branch opening hours of 5pm – 7pm, the Helping Hands team in your local branch will be available to answer questions, have informal conversations about starting a career in care and provide friendly advice about what it takes to become a great carer.

Karen Lewis, Director of Operations for Helping Hands says: “This is a fantastic initiative to encourage people in the community who may not have considered a career in care before, to come and speak with our teams in branch and find out if this could be their ideal role.

“Our carers come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and our in-depth and award-winning training means that we can employ people who show a real passion to support another person’s independence. Even if you’ve never had experience in care before and want to find out more, drop into your local branch and speak with the team on 14th June.”

Helping Hands is among the very few home care companies that directly employ every single one of its 2,000 plus carers, handling the whole recruitment and training process in-house. While many other home care providers are purely introductory agencies, Helping Hands provides a fully managed service, overseeing each customer’s complete package of care, with regular carer supervisions and carer refresher training as needed.

In nearly 30 years of operation, Helping Hands has continued to move from strength to strength, opening new branches every year in their journey to becoming the nation’s homecare provider of choice. With such a large exposure in the UK, the nationwide open-door evening marks a significant milestone in Helping Hands’ history, displaying their ability to directly employ carers and provide them with all of the training, guidance and support they require to excel in their careers.

To all those who are wanting to attend – they can register their interest and book their place online – https://www.helpinghandshomecare.co.uk/openevening/ and/or pop in to their local branch.
