Harborough firm shortlisted for industry award

siemensA Market Harborough-based events agency is in the running for a coveted industry award after successfully organising an international function.

Primary, based in Angel Court off the High Street, has been shortlisted at this year’s Conference & Incentive Travel (C&IT) Excellence Awards for the European Consulting Conference it hosted in June for Siemens.

More than 800 people attended the event, which was held at the Madrid Auditorium across three days for Siemens Product Lifestyle Management employees working across Europe

In just five months Primary managed to arrange 86 speakers, 76 breakout sessions and 17 entertainers.

Primary Managing Director Dan Stevens said: “It is always an achievement to be recognised within your chosen industry, so we are immensely proud of being shortlisted for a C&IT award for the second year running. It’s testament to the continued hard work of the team.

“We received some great feedback from our client with 93 per cent of attendees stating they felt the event provided them with a good ability to network with their colleagues.”

As part of the brief, the Leicestershire company had to engage in brand implementation and logistical event management, which included venue sourcing, production, AV and video application. It also produced a comprehensive online registration site and bespoke event app

Primary was also forced to overcome the logistical nightmare of enduring a Spanish air traffic control strike which took place throughout the event and affected travelling delegates.

Cassandra Coe, from Siemens Industry Software Limited, said: “This year we started the event with only months to prepare and in a situation where I had no trusted event agency.

“I can thankfully say Primary has exceeded mine and my team’s expectations, not only in the planning phases, but the support for all elements of the event execution.”

The objective of the conference was to share knowledge through various networking opportunities.

The Awards are open to all companies running events both in the UK and overseas. Projects entered can include conferences, incentive programmes, meetings, product launches, hospitality programmes, congresses and conventions.
