Getting ‘shirty’ when doing business can pay off on occasions

Hinckley’s Leicester Road FC are now reserving places in their ‘shirt draw’ for the 2017/18 season, whereby for just £395 plus VAT the lucky winner will have their business name/logo on the first team’s shirts, as well as two season tickets and a pitch side advertising board.

Even if you don’t win this ‘main prize package’ you’ll be guaranteed two season tickets plus either a pitch side board for the season or a full page advert in the programme for every home match – and with the board and advert both worth £300 and two season tickets costing £180, you’ll be in credit!

LRFC commercial director, Paul Moss (pictured), explains: “It’s a cracking deal and, quite literally, means you can have the shirt off our back. To pay for the shirt sponsorship outright would cost in the region of £15-20,000, so at LRFC we do it this way to make it much more rewarding for lots more businesses.

“Everyone’s a winner because apart from the main shirt prize package, or a pitch side board/full page programme ad for the season and two season tickets as a minimum, there are other great prizes up for grabs in the draw too – like your company name on the first team shorts, a meal for four prior to your choice of home game in the 2017/18 season, plus an away day with the directors.”

Burbage businessman David Macdonald is executive director at leading Midlands track Uttoxeter Racecourse, who won the previous shirt draw for the 2016/17 season. He says: “As a local man I’m proud to sponsor the club, as it’s definitely going places, while their success on the pitch in the Midland Football League and as County Cup winners this season has resulted in tangible raised awareness and footfall for the Racecourse amongst football and sporting fans across the greater Midlands.

“Uttoxeter Racecourse has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with Leicester Road Football Club since its inception in 2013 and apart from the excellent exposure afforded by the shirt branding this season, we generate some £25,000 extra per year from race days and hospitality events that the club host for both fans and business clients. Additionally, the club directors and board members continue to be great ambassadors and advocates of Uttoxeter Racecourse and this kind of support is invaluable.”

The shirt draw takes place on the evening of Friday 28th July at Leicester Road’s stadium in Hinckley (LE10 3DR) but to secure your place in the draw contact Paul Moss on 07966 387243 or email him at paul.moss@lr-fc.co.uk. This season 33 businesses took part but the club is now aiming for 45-50.

There’s never been a better time to sponsor (or support) Leicester Road FC and those who have not attended a match before will be pleasantly surprised at the level of football played – enhanced by the setup of the stadium which is the second biggest and best in Leicestershire to the King Power Stadium of Leicester City FC.

It’s a great place to come and watch football and a proper sporting experience, plus LRFC play matches across Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, plus Birmingham and the Black Country for widespread exposure. Leicester Falcons, the city’s American Football team are also based at the Leicester Road stadium during the close season, so it’s utilised all year round.
