First ever Nicholas Humphreys franchise wins national award

awardsJust over four years after launching the first ever Nicholas Humphreys franchise, Directors Dan Strain and Jon MacDonald are delighted to have been awarded with Bronze for ‘new agency of the year 2016’ at the national Negotiator Awards. The glamorous black-tie gala dinner took place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 1st November, and was hosted by comedian, Ed Byrne.

The Nottingham office was also shortlisted for an award at the same prestigious event back in 2013, Dan and Jon hope that next year will be Gold!

“To be shortlisted to the final 10 of was fantastic, but coming away with bronze makes all the hard work over the past four years even more worthwhile.” Said Dan Strain.

The pair attribute the fast growth of the business to their work ethic, and commitment to delivering an A1 service. The extended opening hours made a huge difference, “by offering evening viewing appointments, we were able to get let properties quicker than our competitors, and reduce void periods for our landlords” said Dan.

Now the UK’s number 1 specialist student letting agent, the company works hard to engage with students. “We decided to sponsor the University of Nottingham men’s Hockey team, it’s been a great investment for us and we’ve built a fantastic relationship with the club”, said Jon.

The Nottingham office has gone from strength to strength, and now houses over 1600 students every year! An unimaginable figure just four years ago when the company was launched as a cold-start business from a bedroom. The business now operates from a recently refurbished office on Lenton Boulevard, featuring a hidden ‘speakeasy’ style room where students can browse through the portfolio of properties in a relaxed environment, and arrange viewings.

Jon MacDonald, who also manages the investment sales arm of the business, said “To win bronze at the Negotiator awards less than 12 months after winning two awards at the Nicholas Humphreys franchise conference is a great feeling”.

Although specialising in student lettings, the office often lets up to 15 professional properties a month, and helps new and existing investors from all over the UK to expand their buy to let portfolios.
