East Midlands site managers do Miller Homes proud

National Pride in Job Awards recognition for Miller Homes’ Dan Johnson

Two East Midlands-based site managers for housebuilder Miller Homes are celebrating after being commended in the first round of the national Pride in the Job Awards.

Organised by NHBC, the standard setting body for new homes, the awards recognise excellence in the quality and safety standards delivered by site managers at developments across the country.

Vinnie Morris and Dan Johnson both received Quality Awards for the standards they set at their respective developments, along with seven of their Miller Homes site manager colleagues from other areas of the UK.

This is the second year running that Vinnie has been commended with a Quality Award for his work within the Langley Country Parkdevelopment in Derby, and he also has an impressive history of wins from previous years within the NHBC Pride in the Job and Seal of Excellence Awards for his outstanding work and the exceptionally high standards he has delivered for Miller Homes.

Dan Johnson was singled out for the award, as recognition of the quality of site management he brought to the Regency Gardensdevelopment in Southwell, Nottinghamshire.

Speaking about his award, Dan said:

“It’s a great honour to be recognised for this award. Building homes safely and to the highest standard is always our number one priority at Miller Homes so it’s personally extremely rewarding to be recognised in this way.”

NHBC’s world-leading 10-year Buildmark warranty provides consumer protection and confidence for new homebuyers. Every housebuilder registered under the warranty scheme is entered into the Pride in the Job awards.

Each site manager is then subject to a rigorous assessment across 44 areas of their responsibilities, covering technical knowledge, consistency in build processes and quality control.

Chief Executive of Miller Homes, Chris Endsor, said: “Building new homes safely and to the highest standards is a key priority for Miller Homes.  We are very proud of all of our site managers who have received this recognition from the industry for their commitment and dedication to achieving these standards day in and day out on their developments.”

Neil Jefferson, Managing Director of the NHBC, commented: “Congratulations to all the 2017 Quality Award winners – the strength of this year’s entries coupled with the judges’ long and hard deliberations over selecting around 450 winners from more than 16,000 site managers should give great pride to them all and their teams.

“Every year the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards give us the chance to celebrate the efforts site managers go to promoting continuous improvement in the quality of new homes, year on year, for homeowners and their families to enjoy.”

The next stage of the competition, taking place later in the year, will award Seal of Excellence Awards and select the winners of the regional title. The regional champions will then be pitted against others from across the UK to contend for the national Supreme Winner title within their category at the Pride in the Job Gala, taking place in London in January 2018.
