Derbyshire care operator Folcarn Ltd has announced the opening of their second care home, New Lodge Nursing Home, after securing a significant funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland earlier this year and has refurbished and developed the site to create a new 28-bed nursing care home, which officially opened on Wednesday 2nd November.
The former care home on Western Road in Mickleover, Derby was closed down before Folcarn Ltd acquired it. The funding provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland assisted the purchase of the building and renovation plans, which have been brought to fruition and has allowed the team at New Lodge to welcome their new residents.
New Lodge Nursing Home will provide highly complex nursing care for its residents. It will offer 28 single rooms with the majority offering en-suite facilities. The project will create 40 new jobs to the area as the firm recruits caring and admin staff, domestics and chefs for the home. The new home will be managed by Khadiga Orta.
Folcarn Ltd is owned by Paul Coulthard and this will be the company’s second care home. The existing home is the Old Nursing Lodge in Etwall, Derbyshire. Last year the home was recognised by Care Quality Commission (CQC) report as providing ‘outstanding’ levels of care.
Paul Coulthard, Managing Director of Folcarn Ltd said: “This has been an exciting project for Folcarn Ltd as we expand our care offering across Derbyshire. Work involved to refurbish New Lodge Nursing Home, and bring it in line with our high standards offering a comfortable and homely environment for our residents, is now complete and we couldn’t be more delighted with the overall finish. The funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland has played a key role in helping us to realise our ambition of opening a second care home in Derbyshire.”
Paul Curzon, Senior Relationship Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland added: “Paul has worked in the care sector for many years and is highly respected locally. We are delighted we could assist with providing a high quality finish that will no doubt meet the approval of the New Lodge Nursing Home residents.”
