Cockliffe Country House announces key appointments

 

Cockliffe Country House Hotel in Burntstump Country Park has appointed two senior employees in key roles at the luxury hotel and event venue.

The 11-bedroom, 17th century former farmhouse has appointed a head chef and a wedding and events manager, all ahead of the busy wedding season.

The announcement follows the recent news of an extensive refurbishment of the property, owned by independent hotel group Heritage Estates, which will include the imminent launch of a new multi-purpose events space.

Head chef Sam James joins the Cockliffe Country House team from celebrated local venue Perkins Restaurant, where he oversaw both the fine dining restaurant, and the popular on-site wedding and function facility.

Prior to this, he cut his teeth at a series of impressive London eateries well known for their quality of cuisine, including the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, Beaufort House in Chelsea, and The Plaza, overlooking Hyde Park.

“We are delighted to welcome Sam to the team here, and are excited to use his expertise to build on the already strong reputation of our hotel,” explained director Jon-Paul Davies.

“Sam has a proven track record of delivering exceptional cuisine using the highest quality seasonal ingredients, and we are excited to have someone of his calibre leading the food offer of our venue during this exciting and important period of development and beyond,” he said.

Nadia Mirhosseini has been brought in to develop and enhance the wedding and events customer experience with a strong background in events after working for a number of major UK businesses.

“The expansion of our facilities with a beautiful, architect-designed function room will enable us to cater for events of up to 80 people, complementing our existing luxury conference and banqueting facilities,” Jon-Paul commented.

“Nadia’s strong customer service focus and attention to detail give her the perfect skills to ensure we continue to provide the high standards that our wedding and events clientele expect,” he added.

“These two senior appointments will report to Noel Mines, group general manager. Sam and Nadia complete a strong, highly skilled team here at Cockliffe Country House Hotel, and put us in the strongest possible position to ensure the ongoing delivery of excellence at the venue.”
