Leading chartered accountancy firm, Newby Castleman, has announced it will be running two free seminars later this month to help employers gain a better understanding of their responsibilities under the Government’s Auto Enrolment pension policy.
The sessions, which will be hosted at the firm’s Regent Road office in Leicester, follow a series of popular seminars run by Newby Castleman on this topic last year. They will take place on Tuesday 30th May and Tuesday 6th June, with a 9am start, and the firm is now taking bookings.
These seminars will provide advice and guidance on every aspect of Auto Enrolment, to ensure local small and medium sized businesses are fully prepared to meet their legal obligations.
John Freeman, Director at Newby Castleman (Financial Services) Ltd, said: “Launched in October 2012, Auto Enrolment is part of a Government initiative that aims to help more people save and prepare for their retirement, and is gradually being rolled out across the country until February 2018.
“Every company will be affected by Auto Enrolment, whether it employs one person or a few hundred employees.
“It will be the employer’s sole responsibility to enrol their employees into a workplace pension scheme and to ensure certain criteria are met. Failing to do so could have a significant impact on businesses – ultimately leading to fines of up to £10,000 per day.
“It is vital that employers learn how Auto Enrolment will affect them as this is a legal requirement and enforcement action is already taking place against businesses who have failed to meet their pension Auto Enrolment requirements.
