Shirt’s Electric! for football sponsor winner

A Hinckley businessman is celebrating after a prize draw lottery resulted in his company name and logo gracing the shirt of his local football team.

Armstrong Electrical Installations based on Mill Street in Barwell won the lucky dip over 35 other companies in Leicester Road FC’s annual commercial Shirt Draw and will take pride of place on the team’s strip for the 2017-2018 season in the Midland Football League.

Proprietor Andy Armstrong is thrilled and says: “What a great day at the office and I’m sure that being this year’s main shirt sponsor will boost our brand awareness no end.  I’ve not won many things in my time, so it was a big surprise to be drawn out of the hat.

“Having won the County Cup last year, Leicester Road FC is a club on the rise and their youth development looks very strong too. As a local concern I’m proud to be part of it of it and it bodes well for the future. I can already recommend other businesses follow suit and get involved.

“I have always loved the game and played for both Hinckley United and Nuneaton Borough in my youth, continuing to play lower level local football and progressing into coaching with Barwell Juniors, as both of my boys have always played too.

“I played on the LRFC pitch recently in a veteran’s game to raise money for the schoolboy and youth development set up and it’s looking in great shape. The ground is very impressive too and is the second biggest in the county to the King Power Stadium of Leicester City FC.”

As part of the Shirt Draw win, Armstrong Electrical Installations (which has been serving Hinckley and the local area for nearly 30 years and specialises in industrial, commercial and domestic electrical, but more recently CCTV and LED lighting) also got two season tickets and a pitch side advertising board.

All the other businesses entered were also guaranteed two season tickets plus either a pitch side board for the season or a full page advert in the programme for every home match.

LRFC commercial director, Paul Moss, adds: “It’s a cracking deal and, quite literally, means you can have the shirt off our back. To pay for the shirt sponsorship outright would cost in the region of £15-20,000, so at LRFC we do it this way to make it much more rewarding for lots more businesses.

“We’re delighted to have Andy (a football man as well) and the team at Armstrong Electrical Installations on board and we look forward to building a long standing relationship with them that will benefit both companies.”
